About Us
Dining away from home can be a challenge for those managing food allergies and intolerances or special dietary needs. As a registered dietitian, as well as a mother of children with food allergies, I am always on the lookout for a safe place to eat. This site came about due to the necessity of finding restaurants receptive to serving customers with food allergies and special dietary concerns. Our goal is to increase the awareness within the restaurant community so that we may once again experience the freedom to dine away from home.

Polly’s Pancake Parlor

In business since 1938, Polly’s Pancake Parlor continues to operate as a family run business.  In more recent years they have decided to offer gluten-free pancakes and waffles!  All batters are made from scratch which enables the modification.  Mixes are never used.  These batters are rice flour based and contain dairy (also contain corn, eggs) however, they are willing to make them dairy-free, if needed.

One can customize their pancake with ‘add-ins’ like coconut, various fruits and berries, nuts or even chocolate chips. Walnuts and peanuts are cooked on the shared griddle so be sure to mention any allergies before ordering.  The same thing goes for the gluten-free pancakes. The cook will clean the griddle for your order, but cannot guarantee zero contamination. There are plenty of other items on the menu that are naturally gluten-free such as the many egg choices, bacon, sausage, fruits and salads.

Next time you find yourself near the majestic White Mountains why not stop by, but you might want to call ahead.  This place is popular…and small!
