Triple Mousse Cake
You’ll find a whole lot more than just baked goods at Flour Bakery! Breakfast and lunch options (could be eaten for dinner, too- they are open till 6 pm most days) are available with their ever changing menu of daily specials. With locations in South Boston and Fort Point, there is a good chance that you’ll find items that are devoid of gluten, dairy (vegan) and nuts on your visit.
On any given day you may find soups such as the Curried Broccoli, or the Shitake, Rapini and Snap Pea- each one gluten, dairy and nut-free. You may prefer the White Bean Salad which, along with beans, has summer heirloom tomatoes, spinach, broccoli and a champagne vinaigrette. The Quinoa with roasted grape tomatoes, scallions, watermelon and mint is another dish brimming with the fresh harvests of summer and, again, is gluten, dairy and nut free!
On a recent visit to the Boston Children’s Museum we parked in a garage right across the street from Flour Bakery and couldn’t help but steer ourselves toward the scrumptuous aroma which wafted our way every time the bakery door opened. We decided that we wanted something sweet to share. It took a bit of questioning to find a treat that was gluten and nut-free, but we hit the jackpot with the Triple Mousse Cake (contains dairy). It was a flourless chocolate cake with a light mousse filling covered with a rich, decadent ganache. Too good for words, really!

I’ve got to try this out next time we visit the Children’s Museum. My kids love chocolate cake, so this will be something to look forward to. Thanks!
