Equal Exchange Cafe
Located in Boston on Causeway Street between the North End and TD Banknorth Garden, is the Equal Exchange Cafe . Known for their organic, fair trade coffee and tea, there is never a reason to question what you are consuming because they proudly display product information including country of origin. While you are there you can also enjoy fair trade hot chocolate, chocolates or one of the gluten-free options that are offered daily. The gluten-free items are brought in from the local company, Glutenus Minimus. On any given day you will find an assortment of muffins, cookies and/or brownies. At this time, there are not any vegan, gluten-free choices (they offer gluten-containing vegan foods) but call ahead to see if they have a gluten-free/dairy-free choice before your visit. Sometimes they do! Also, if you are avoiding dairy they have soy milk available. Another plus is that they were honored with a Green Business Award from the city of Boston for their recycling efforts and support of local farms and businesses. Bring your computer-they have free WiFi too!
