About Us
Dining away from home can be a challenge for those managing food allergies and intolerances or special dietary needs. As a registered dietitian, as well as a mother of children with food allergies, I am always on the lookout for a safe place to eat. This site came about due to the necessity of finding restaurants receptive to serving customers with food allergies and special dietary concerns. Our goal is to increase the awareness within the restaurant community so that we may once again experience the freedom to dine away from home.

Kamasouptra in Monument Square

Vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free foods are available at Kamasouptra in Portland, Maine.    Soup selections change daily and their handy menu displays the  daily choices and also makes note of any special dietary needs.

There are so many innovative creations such as the vegetarian and gluten-free Avocado Vichysoisse, gluten-free Pork & Rice Chili  and the vegetarian and gluten-free Spicy Turnip Bisque.  For those needing gluten-free and vegan the Vegetable Tortilla soup and Maple -spiced Sweet potato (available hot or cold) are others to consider.

During  the warmer months lighter soups like the Roasted Pear and Watermelon or Cucumber with Dill and Olive Relish are featured (both are vegan and gluten-free).   Gluten-free rolls made from a local dedicated gluten-free bakery accompany each bowl of soup!

While best known for their soups, they also offer a few options for brunch on weekends.
