About Us

Dining away from home can be a challenge for those managing food allergies and intolerances or special dietary needs. As a registered dietitian, as well as a mother of children with food allergies, I am always on the lookout for a safe place to eat. This site came about due to the necessity of finding restaurants receptive to serving customers with food allergies and special dietary concerns. Our goal is to increase the awareness within the restaurant community so that we may once again experience the freedom to dine away from home.

Duffy’s Tavern & Grill is located in Lafayette Center in Kennebunk, Maine. They have recently added a gluten-free menu that includes appetizers, entrees, sandwiches and pizza as well as gluten-free beer! Their gluten-free sandwich bread (contains egg and milk) and gluten and dairy-free pizza crust (contains eggs) are provided by Maine’s own Allergeena Gluten Free Baked Goods . There are ten pizza toppings to choose from including gluten-free pepperoni.

The sandwiches include a Duffy’s Burger or Grilled Chicken Sandwich and are served with the house vegetable, which might not appease the kids, but the fries here are off-limits.

Rental facilites are available for Special Events.
