About Us
Dining away from home can be a challenge for those managing food allergies and intolerances or special dietary needs. As a registered dietitian, as well as a mother of children with food allergies, I am always on the lookout for a safe place to eat. This site came about due to the necessity of finding restaurants receptive to serving customers with food allergies and special dietary concerns. Our goal is to increase the awareness within the restaurant community so that we may once again experience the freedom to dine away from home.

Clay Hill Farm

Are you looking for delicious, modern cuisine in a casual yet elegant setting?  If so, head over to the award winning Clay Hill Farm  in Qgunquit.  This restaurant has a seasonal menu as well as a gluten-free  one!  Many of the dishes are allergen friendly, however, nuts and seafood are prepared in the kitchen.  Appetizers, salads, small plates and entrees are offered.  While waiting for dinner you can take a stroll through the grounds to view either the lush gardens or the bird sanctuary which is Maine’s first to be certified by the National Wildlife Federation.

If you are looking for an allergen-friendly place to stay overnight in Qgunquit, be sure to look into the Distant Sands B&B  where a full breakfast is served that can be made gluten-free, vegetarian or low-fat.  The proprietor will also honor other dietary restrictions. Just be sure to call ahead and let him know your needs. Another bed and breakfast in Qgunquit, the Almost Home Inn  ,  also caters to those with gluten-free needs.
