About Us
Dining away from home can be a challenge for those managing food allergies and intolerances or special dietary needs. As a registered dietitian, as well as a mother of children with food allergies, I am always on the lookout for a safe place to eat. This site came about due to the necessity of finding restaurants receptive to serving customers with food allergies and special dietary concerns. Our goal is to increase the awareness within the restaurant community so that we may once again experience the freedom to dine away from home.

Cafe Live

All items at Cafe Live are free of gluten, dairy, egg and soy and are also organic.  The food at this vegan restaurant is considered “raw” because it’s never heated beyond 115 degrees.  The owner/chef is a UCONN grad with a degree in Nutritional Science, and it shows!  Her creations are tempting whether you’re living the vegan lifestyle or not!

Located in Portland,  The Eggs Up Grill  serves breakfast and lunch and  they have a gluten-free menu!  Owner Kim lives gluten-free as do many of her family  members.  She’s devised a full breakfast menu which includes a tempting  array of pancakes (contain eggs and dairy) and French toast (bread contains dairy, corn, eggs and yeast).
