About Us
Dining away from home can be a challenge for those managing food allergies and intolerances or special dietary needs. As a registered dietitian, as well as a mother of children with food allergies, I am always on the lookout for a safe place to eat. This site came about due to the necessity of finding restaurants receptive to serving customers with food allergies and special dietary concerns. Our goal is to increase the awareness within the restaurant community so that we may once again experience the freedom to dine away from home.

Swiss Bakers baking gluten-free in Reading

Swiss Bakers, located at the train depot in Reading, bakes gluten-free bread on site.  They offer a white bread and a cinnamon bread. Tapioca, rice and cornstarch are used for the flours and evaporated cane juice is used as a sweetener. Three Dogs Gluten-Free Bakery

Historic Plymouth, Ma has so much to offer.  Next time you visit, check out some of these allergen friendly establishments.  The Cornerstone Cafe  located at 67 Main Street, Plymouth (sorry, no website, phone 1-508- 746-7773),  is open for breakfast and lunch.  They offer sandwiches made with gluten free bread. Anello’s Gluten Free Pastries has Moved to New Hampshire-CLOSED!

Established in 2005 in Wells, ME, Anello’s Pastries, has moved to a new location in Portsmouth, NH under the new name Anello’s Cafe.  Everything made and sold here is gluten free!  They are open for breakfast and lunch.  For breakfast, they offer  bagels, breakfast sandwiches and scones.  A popular choice is the egg, bacon and cheese bagel and another, the Italian, is served with warm capicola and melted provalone served on an asiago roll.  Read the rest of this entry »

Cake for the Rest of Us! CLOSED!

The Patisserie Bleu Cafe , in Nashua, NH, is known for it’s wedding cakes and catering service.  The allergen free community knows it as a haven for delicious cakes , desserts and muffins which can be made gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free and sugar-free.   The owner/ baker Deb is constantly trying new recipes and flour mixes to ensure that her allergen free varieties are just as delicious as all of the other items in her bakery.
