Wow! Gluten free fried clams, chowder and more…
Woodman’s of Essex is a well loved establishment that has been frying up clams since 1914 and most of their menu just happens to be gluten-free! There are many choices and the portions are generous. Fried clams, scallops, haddock, chicken fingers, clam chowder and fries are a few of the gluten-free menu choices available. Check out their gluten-free menu www.woodmans.com/restaurant/menus.cfm for a full listing. All breaded items are prepared with ground corn meal, no other flour is used. But note, the food is dipped in evaporated milk before being coated. It is a casual fun place to visit in any season.
In warmer months diners can sit outside on picnic benches over looking the Essex River. For many, it just wouldn’t be summer without a trip to Woodman’s.

An allergen friendly restaurant with entertainment!
The Nimrod Restaurant & Jazz Lounge is located in Falmouth, Massachusetts on beautiful Cape Cod. Included on their dinner menu is a clearly marked gluten free section. There are numerous choices for appetizers, entrees and desserts. They even offer gluten-free rolls! There are some gluten-free choices for lunch as well. After contacting Chef Jim Murry, I was told that they can accomodate most food intolerances, especially if notified in advance. They never use trans fats or MSG and very rarely use corn oil. They are offering a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner on the weekend and will be having a St. Paddy’s Day party with local radio personalities as well as prizes and giveaways. The owners of this restaurant have two children with celiac disease. Read the rest of this entry »
